The 2008 IAB Australia Interactive Advertising Awards have today been launched, with Australia’s elite online and interactive advertising and marketing campaigns set to be honoured at a gala dinner in Sydney on Thursday 1st May 2008.

The Awards will again recognize best practice in two streams – creative and media – across five vertical industry categories and the entry judged as Best of Show will gain entry into the MIXX Awards in New York.  A new Peoples Choice IAB Australia Award will also be on offer in 2008, with the winner being determined by SMS voting on the Awards night.

Entries will open from 14th January 2008 and must be submitted online at www.iabaustralia.com.au/awards before 3rd March 2008. Finalists will be announced in late March and the winners will be honoured at a gala dinner in Sydney on Thursday 1st May 2008. After IAB Australia Best of Show winners, GPY&R and Tiger Spike went on to win Gold in the Mobile Platforms category of the 2007 MIXX Awards in New York, Patty Keegan, General Manager of IAB Australia and chair of the 2008 Interactive Advertising Awards Committee is hopeful that Australian agencies will again be entering world class campaigns. <“There’s no doubt that Australia is developing some exceptional campaigns on par with our international competitors.  Given the strong growth in the online advertising market we fully expect to receive a significant number of entries across all the categories,” said Ms Keegan.  The Awards sponsors include Bigpond as diamond sponsor; DoubleClick and Max Interactive as silver sponsors, 3DI the bronze sponsor and Tiger Spike is the Awards’ digital sponsor.
